Baldock Beats Waste

We are a local group who are eager to encourage more commitment to the care of the environment. We can do this through more thoughtful use of materials like plastic and chemicals, and less waste. We all have a part to play.

Please visit our Upcoming Events page to see what we're up to next!

Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust

Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust believe that wildlife should be able to thrive alongside our everyday lives and that everyone is better off when they have access to nature. We are a local conservation charity working to protect wildlife and help people connect with nature. With a team of volunteers we care for wild places so that nature has a place to thrive. We help people experience the wildlife on their doorsteps and to take action to protect it.

North Herts and Stevenage Friends of the Earth

A voluntary group of people united by a common interest in local 'green issues' and social justice. We campaign on a wide range of key environmental matters in the area between Royston, Hitchin, Stevenage, Baldock, Letchworth and Buntingford. We are a licensed local group of Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which in turn ispart of an international community dedicated to protecting the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it. The local group is run entirely by volunteers, and new members are always welcome. Friends of the Earth is committed to: • a peaceful and sustainable world based on societies living in harmony with nature. • each generation enjoying an environment that’s getting better; a safer climate, abundant nature, healthy air, water and food. • a growing and diverse network of people coming together to transform our environment into one which is flourishing, sustainable, and socially just. www.nhertsfoe.co.uk

Come and make Christmas tree decorations connected with nature- stars and robins!- and add to our prayer bunting focussing on action on climate change, all on the eve of COP28 where we hope countries will make serious immediate pledges to tackle the climate crisis and reduce fossil fuel use to reduce CO2 emissions which are causing the dangerous rise in global temperature. Wyld Edges

“Permaculture is a philosophy of working with, rather than against nature; of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted and thoughtless labor; and of looking at plants and animals in all their functions, rather than treating any area as a single product system”Bill Mollison, co-creator of permaculture.
